Witton Women Chanting group

Regular monthly chanting meetings from 10.30-11.30 a.m., usually (but not always) the second Saturday morning of the month, at Witton Gilbert Village Hall, Sacriston Lane, Witton Gilbert, Durham DH7 6TF.

No need to book in advance - pay £10 on the door.

We share chants and mantra from a variety of different cultural traditions and all women are very welcome. No musical experience is needed and no expertise in singing. There are no complicated tunes or words to learn, no 'good' or 'bad' voices, no pressure to perform. It's joyful, uplifting and heart-warming.
You may like to bring water to drink, also percussion instruments such as a frame drum, rattle or shakers to add rhythm to our chants.

There is a car park at the hall and a bus stop close by. The facilities at the hall are excellent, including a well-equipped kitchen for tea-making. There is easy access, as it is all on one level with no steps. The space is unpretentiously warm and welcoming.

Feedback from our group:

"Thank you, Paula, it is such a joy to sing with you all." - Sharon, March '24

"Energizing!." - Claire, February '24
